Problem

A beam at a fixed point in space has the normalised Jones vector E=15(3−4i)\mathbf{E} = \frac{1}{5}\begin{pmatrix}3 \\ -4i\end{pmatrix} where the physical field is Ephys(t)=Re[E ei(kz−ωt)]\mathbf{E}_{\mathrm{phys}}(t) = \mathrm{Re}\left[\mathbf{E}\,e^{i(kz-\omega t)}\right]. ((a)) Find the amplitudes ExE_x, EyE_y and the phase difference ε\varepsilon (the phase of the yy component relative to the xx component). ((b)) Write the equation of the tip locus and classify the state (linear, circular or elliptical). ((c)) State the handedness under CV6.
