Problem

In bright daylight a reader's pupil contracts to a diameter of 2.02.0 mm. Take the wavelength of light as λ=500\lambda = 500 nm. ((a)) Estimate the eye's angular resolution using the Rayleigh criterion. ((b)) Estimate the smallest print-stroke separation resolvable at the near point of 2525 cm. ((c)) A caption in a diagram has stroke separations of about 0.080.08 mm. Is it legible at 2525 cm in bright light, according to your estimate?
