Problem

In a head-on collision at the Large Hadron Collider running at its design energy, each proton in either beam carries 7 TeV7\,\mathrm{TeV}, so the largest momentum transfer available in a collision is of order 14 TeV/c14\,\mathrm{TeV}/c. Estimate the smallest distance scale such a collision can, in principle, probe.
