Problem

Suppose only the two lower rows of the spin-three-halves decuplet had been measured: Σ∗\Sigma^* at 1385 MeV/c21385\,\mathrm{MeV}/c^2 and Ξ∗\Xi^* at 1533 MeV/c21533\,\mathrm{MeV}/c^2, and the top row, Δ\Delta, had not yet been found. ((a)) Using the equal spacing of the decuplet rows, predict the mass of Δ\Delta. ((b)) The measured Δ\Delta mass is 1232 MeV/c21232\,\mathrm{MeV}/c^2. Find the difference between the prediction and the measured value, as a percentage of the measured mass.
