Problem

A circular proton synchrotron holds a beam of momentum p=980 GeV/cp = 980\,\mathrm{GeV}/c on a circle of bending radius r=1000 mr = 1000\,\mathrm{m} using dipole magnets. The protons are relativistic, so their momentum pp is the quantity that appears in the bending relation, not the rest mass alone. Find the dipole field BB required.
