Problem

A laboratory plasma of singly charged helium ions has density n=1×1019 m−3n = 1\times10^{19}\,\mathrm{m^{-3}}, Te=Ti=3 eVT_e = T_i = 3\,\mathrm{eV}, device size L=0.1 mL = 0.1\,\mathrm{m}, field B=0.2 TB = 0.2\,\mathrm{T}, ion mass mi=4mpm_i = 4m_p, a bulk flow u=1×104 m s−1u = 1\times10^4\,\mathrm{m\,s^{-1}} and a disturbance of angular frequency ω=1×106 rad s−1\omega = 1\times10^6\,\mathrm{rad\,s^{-1}}. Evaluate the four small parameters of the two-fluid equations for this plasma: me/mim_e/m_i, λD/L\lambda_D/L, ω/Ωi\omega/\Omega_i and u/cu/c.
