Problem

A two-outcome fringe of visibility V=0.95V = 0.95 has classical Fisher information F(φ)=V2sin⁡2φ1−V2cos⁡2φF(\varphi) = \dfrac{V^2\sin^2\varphi}{1 - V^2\cos^2\varphi} per shot. The experiment is run at φ=π/3\varphi = \pi/3 with ν=400\nu = 400 independent shots. ((a)) Compute F(π/3)F(\pi/3). ((b)) Use the Cramer-Rao bound to find the smallest possible Δφ\Delta\varphi achievable by any unbiased estimator from these shots.
