Problem

A tidal bore advances into still water of depth h1=1.5 mh_1 = 1.5\,\mathrm{m} in an estuary; the water behind the bore is h2=2.4 mh_2 = 2.4\,\mathrm{m} deep. Find ((a)) the speed UU at which the bore advances, in the frame of the bank; ((b)) the speed at which the water behind the bore moves, in the same frame.
