Problem

Classical absorption of sound in air at 20∘C20^\circ\mathrm{C}, including the rotational bulk viscosity, is 0.16 dB km−10.16\,\mathrm{dB\,km^{-1}} at 1 kHz1\,\mathrm{kHz}. Using the fact that the classical absorption coefficient α\alpha scales as ω2\omega^2, find the classical absorption in air at ((a)) 2 kHz2\,\mathrm{kHz} and ((b)) 500 Hz500\,\mathrm{Hz}.
