Aluminium is cubic with elastic constants c11=107.3 GPac_{11}=107.3\,\mathrm{GPa}, c44=28.3 GPac_{44}=28.3\,\mathrm{GPa} and mass density ρm=2700 kg m−3\rho_m=2700\,\mathrm{kg\,m^{-3}}. Using the long-wavelength (elastic continuum) limit of the dynamical matrix, find the longitudinal and transverse sound speeds along [100][100].
