Problem

A Richardson plot of saturated emission from a tantalum surface has been fitted to the straight line ln⁡(J/T2)=4.01−4.78×104 (1/T),\ln(J/T^2) = 4.01 - 4.78\times10^{4}\,(1/T), where JJ is in A cm−2\mathrm{A\,cm^{-2}} and TT in kelvin. ((a)) Read off the work function ϕ\phi implied by this fit, in eV. ((b)) Read off the effective Richardson constant A0A_0, in A cm−2K−2\mathrm{A\,cm^{-2}K^{-2}}. ((c)) Express A0A_0 as a fraction of the universal Richardson constant, 120 A cm−2K−2120\,\mathrm{A\,cm^{-2}K^{-2}}.
