Problem

A solar-type subgiant has measured asteroseismic parameters νmax⁡=2200 μHz\nu_{\max} = 2200\,\mu\mathrm{Hz}, Δν=105 μHz\Delta\nu = 105\,\mu\mathrm{Hz} and effective temperature Teff=5680 KT_{\rm eff} = 5680\,\mathrm{K}. Take the solar reference values νmax⁡,⊙=3090 μHz\nu_{\max,\odot} = 3090\,\mu\mathrm{Hz}, Δν⊙=135.1 μHz\Delta\nu_\odot = 135.1\,\mu\mathrm{Hz}, Teff,⊙=5777 KT_{{\rm eff},\odot} = 5777\,\mathrm{K}. ((a)) Find the star's radius in solar units using the asteroseismic scaling relation. ((b)) Find the star's mass in solar units using the corresponding scaling relation.
