Problem

The D0D^0 meson (mD=1864.84 MeVm_D = 1864.84\,\mathrm{MeV}) has a proper mean decay length cτ=122.9 μmc\tau = 122.9\,\mu\mathrm{m} (PDG 2024). Using ℏc=0.19733 GeV fm\hbar c = 0.19733\,\mathrm{GeV\,fm}: ((a)) calculate its total decay width in meV; ((b)) a D0D^0 is produced with laboratory momentum p=25.0 GeVp = 25.0\,\mathrm{GeV}. Calculate the mean distance it travels in the laboratory before decaying, in mm.
