Problem

In the rest frame of a parent of mass MM decaying into three bodies labelled 1,2,31,2,3 with E1+E2+E3=ME_1+E_2+E_3=M, the Dalitz variables are m122=(p1+p2)2m_{12}^2=(p_1+p_2)^2 and m232=(p2+p3)2m_{23}^2=(p_2+p_3)^2. Show that m122m_{12}^2 depends only on E3E_3 and that m232m_{23}^2 depends only on E1E_1, derive the constant Jacobian relating dE1 dE3\mathrm{d}E_1\,\mathrm{d}E_3 to dm122 dm232\mathrm{d}m_{12}^2\,\mathrm{d}m_{23}^2, and evaluate it numerically in MeV2\mathrm{MeV^2} for K+→π+π+π−K^+\to\pi^+\pi^+\pi^-, with MK+=493.68 MeVM_{K^+}=493.68\,\mathrm{MeV} (label the two identical pions 11 and 22, and the π−\pi^- as particle 33).
