Problem
The u and d quarks form an isospin doublet with I=21, I3(u)=+21, I3(d)=−21; the strange quark carries I=0. The physical kaons are K+=usˉ, K0=dsˉ (an isospin doublet, I=21) and their antiparticles K−=uˉs, Kˉ0=dˉs.
((a)) State the I3 of K− and of Kˉ0, using the I3 of uˉ and dˉ.
((b)) The naive antiquark doublet (dˉ,uˉ) must be corrected by a sign to transform correctly, giving (−dˉ,uˉ). Give the I3 values, in the order (top, bottom), of the correspondingly signed doublet built from (Kˉ0,K−), i.e. of (−Kˉ0,K−).
