Problem

Using the quark weights u=(12,13)u=(\tfrac12,\tfrac13), d=(−12,13)d=(-\tfrac12,\tfrac13), s=(0,−23)s=(0,-\tfrac23) (with antiquark weights equal to minus these), find the weight (I3,Y)(I_3,Y) and the charge Q=I3+Y/2Q = I_3 + Y/2 of: ((a)) the K0K^0 meson, quark content dsˉd\bar s; ((b)) the Ξ−\Xi^- baryon, quark content dssdss. State whether each computed charge agrees with the known charge of the particle.
