Problem

A baryon resonance decays to pπ+π−p\pi^+\pi^-. In the resonance's rest frame, the two pions are emitted with relative orbital angular momentum L12=1L_{12}=1 between themselves, and their combined two-pion system orbits the proton with orbital angular momentum L3=0L_3=0. Take P(p)=+1P(p)=+1, P(π+)=P(π−)=−1P(\pi^+)=P(\pi^-)=-1. ((a)) Write the total parity of the three-body final state as a product of the three intrinsic parities and the two orbital factors. ((b)) Evaluate it.
