Problem

In the seesaw mechanism a light neutrino mass arises as mν=mD2/MRm_\nu = m_D^2/M_R, where mDm_D is a Dirac mass and MRM_R is the mass of a heavy right-handed Majorana neutrino, with mD≪MRm_D \ll M_R. A model has a Dirac mass mD=1 TeVm_D = 1\,\mathrm{TeV} and is built to give a light neutrino mass mν=0.01 eVm_\nu = 0.01\,\mathrm{eV}, of the size suggested by the measured mass splittings. Find the heavy mass scale MRM_R this model needs, in GeV\mathrm{GeV}.
