Problem

A charged capacitor produces a uniform field Ey=2.0×103 V m−1E_y = 2.0\times10^3\ \mathrm{V\,m^{-1}} in frame SS, with B⃗=0\vec B = 0 throughout. An observer moves along xx at constant speed vv relative to SS. Using the field-strength tensor's transformation law, Ey′=γ(Ey−vBz)E_y' = \gamma(E_y - vB_z) and Bz′=γ(Bz−vEy/c2)B_z' = \gamma(B_z - vE_y/c^2), with c=3.00×108 m s−1c = 3.00\times10^8\ \mathrm{m\,s^{-1}}: ((a)) Compute Ey′E_y' and Bz′B_z' for v=0.1cv = 0.1c, v=0.5cv = 0.5c, and v=0.9cv = 0.9c. ((b)) Show that the ratio cBz′/Ey′cB_z'/E_y' depends only on v/cv/c, and state that dependence.
