Problem

AME2020 lists these atomic mass excesses for calcium (Z=20Z = 20), in MeV: 44Ca^{44}\mathrm{Ca} −41.469-41.469, 46Ca^{46}\mathrm{Ca} −43.140-43.140, 47Ca^{47}\mathrm{Ca} −42.345-42.345, 48Ca^{48}\mathrm{Ca} −44.225-44.225, 49Ca^{49}\mathrm{Ca} −41.300-41.300, 50Ca^{50}\mathrm{Ca} −39.589-39.589. The neutron's mass excess is 8.071 MeV8.071\,\mathrm{MeV}. ((a)) Find SnS_n for 48Ca^{48}\mathrm{Ca} and 49Ca^{49}\mathrm{Ca}. ((b)) Find S2nS_{2n} for 46Ca^{46}\mathrm{Ca}, 48Ca^{48}\mathrm{Ca} and 50Ca^{50}\mathrm{Ca}, and the average fall of S2nS_{2n} per neutron from N=26N = 26 to 2828 and from N=28N = 28 to 3030. At which neutron number is there a step? ((c)) Find the odd-even staggering Δn\Delta_n at 48Ca^{48}\mathrm{Ca} and compare it with the refitted formula's aP/Aa_P/\sqrt{A}, aP=12.51 MeVa_P = 12.51\,\mathrm{MeV}.
