The Nucleus Resolved, Ch Fusion: the cross section computed and the power balance made honest

Problem

An inertial-confinement capsule reaches a peak fuel areal density ρR=2.0 g cm−2\rho R = 2.0\,\mathrm{g\,cm^{-2}}. Using the burn-fraction model fb=ρR/(ρR+HB)f_b = \rho R/(\rho R + H_B) with HB=7 g cm−2H_B = 7\,\mathrm{g\,cm^{-2}}, calculate the fraction of the deuterium-tritium fuel burned.
