Problem

Electrons of kinetic energy E=50 eVE = 50\,\mathrm{eV} pass through two slits separated by d=20 μmd = 20\,\mu\mathrm{m} and strike a screen a distance D=1.0 mD = 1.0\,\mathrm{m} beyond the slits, with D≫dD \gg d. Using the path-integral result that two paths differing in length by Δℓ\Delta\ell carry a relative phase pΔℓ/ℏp\Delta\ell/\hbar, find the spacing between adjacent bright fringes on the screen. Take the electron mass to be 9.109×10−31 kg9.109\times10^{-31}\,\mathrm{kg}.
