What an Instrument Can See, Ch Pupils: the aperture of a linear system

Problem

A camera is built around a single thin lens of focal length f=160 mmf = 160\text{ mm}. The rim of the lens, of diameter D=40 mmD = 40\text{ mm}, is the only aperture anywhere in the camera. The camera is focused on a very distant scene, so the object may be treated as at infinity. ((a)) Identify the aperture stop, and give the diameter and position of the entrance pupil and of the exit pupil. ((b)) Compute the image-side numerical aperture and the f-number of the lens.
