What an Instrument Can See, Ch Pupils: the aperture of a linear system

Problem

A camera lens of focal length f=100 mmf = 100\text{ mm} is set to f/4f/4. Its internal diaphragm is the aperture stop and, being a simple symmetric design, the entrance and exit pupils coincide with this diaphragm. ((a)) Find the diameter of the entrance pupil. ((b)) The lens is then used for close-up work at unit (1:1) magnification, ∣MT∣=1|M_T| = 1. Compute the working f-number. ((c)) Compute the image-side numerical aperture at this working f-number.
