Problem

A solid SS is formed by revolving a planar region about the xx-axis. For 0≤x≤10 \le x \le 1 each cross section perpendicular to the xx-axis has outer radius 33 and inner radius xx. For 1≤x≤21 \le x \le 2 the outer radius is 44 while the inner radius remains xx. Calculate the exact volume of SS.
