Problem

Cone A is a solid cone of uniform material with height hh and base radius rr. Cone B is made of the same material and has the same base radius rr but a height 2h2h. The mass of Cone A is measured to be 0.80 kg0.80\,\text{kg}. (a) Derive the ratio VBVA\dfrac{V_{\text{B}}}{V_{\text{A}}} of the volumes of Cone B to Cone A in terms of their given dimensions. (b) Using your result from part (a), determine the mass of Cone B. (c) Suppose instead that a third cone, Cone C, were constructed so that both its height and its base radius are doubled relative to Cone A. Without performing a full calculation, qualitatively compare the mass of Cone C to the masses of Cones A and B, and justify your comparison.
