Problem

Consider the three vectors A⃗=2 i^−j^+2 k^\vec A = 2\,\hat i - \hat j + 2\,\hat k, B⃗=i^+3 j^−4 k^\vec B = \hat i + 3\,\hat j - 4\,\hat k and C⃗=−3 i^+5 j^+2 k^\vec C = -3\,\hat i + 5\,\hat j + 2\,\hat k. (i) Evaluate the resultant vector R⃗=A⃗+B⃗−C⃗\vec R = \vec A + \vec B - \vec C. (ii) Determine the unit vector along R⃗\vec R. (iii) Given another vector S⃗=i^+j^+k^\vec S = \hat i + \hat j + \hat k, examine whether R⃗\vec R and S⃗\vec S are perpendicular. Justify your answer with appropriate calculation.
