Problem

Points AA and BB along a taut string are 110 m110\,\text{m} apart in the direction of wave travel. A crest passes point AA at t=0.14 st=0.14\,\text{s} and the same crest reaches point BB at t=0.29 st=0.29\,\text{s}. The wave has frequency 5.0 Hz5.0\,\text{Hz}. (a) Determine the speed of the wave. (b) Calculate its wavelength. (c) At any instant, how many complete wavelengths are contained in the segment between AA and BB? State your answer as an integer plus any fractional part. (d) At t=0.50 st=0.50\,\text{s}, how far beyond point BB has the crest moved?
