Problem

A block of mass 1 kg1\,\text{kg} is released from rest at the top of a smooth incline of height 2 m2\,\text{m}. At the foot of the incline it slides along a horizontal surface of length 3 m3\,\text{m} where the coefficient of kinetic friction is 0.20.2. Answer the following: (i) During which portion of the motion does the mechanical energy of the block remain constant? (ii) Which force is responsible for any loss of mechanical energy while the block is on the horizontal surface?
