Problem

In a crash test, the horizontal force on a 1000 kg1000\,\text{kg} car starts from zero at t=0t=0 and increases uniformly to 2.0×105 N2.0\times10^{5}\,\text{N} at t=0.050 st=0.050\,\text{s}, after which it drops instantly to zero. (i) Find the impulse imparted to the car during the test. (ii) Calculate the change in speed of the car due to this force.
