Problem

A thin straight tube of length 1.0 cm1.0\,\text{cm} is completely filled, end to end, with identical spherical   79197Au^{197}_{\;79}\text{Au} nuclei that are just touching each other. (a) Calculate the diameter of one   79197Au^{197}_{\;79}\text{Au} nucleus. (b) Estimate the maximum number of such nuclei that can be accommodated in the tube. (c) If the same tube were filled with   82207Pb^{207}_{\;82}\text{Pb} nuclei instead, how many nuclei would fit? Compare the two results.
