Problem
A builder is stacking bricks in horizontal layers to form a pyramid-shaped pile. The bottom layer has 50 bricks. Each layer above has 3 bricks fewer than the layer just below it.
(i) How many bricks are there in the 12th layer?
(ii) If the builder has 600 bricks in total, determine the maximum number of complete layers that can be formed and calculate how many bricks, if any, will remain unused.
