Answer the following questions: (i) Define an antiderivative of a real-valued function. What is meant by the constant of integration? (ii) Give a reason why the rule ∫xn dx=xn+1n+1+C\displaystyle \int x^n\,dx=\frac{x^{n+1}}{n+1}+C cannot be applied when n=−1n=-1. (iii) Starting from the derivative ddx(xn+1)=(n+1)xn\displaystyle \frac{d}{dx}\bigl(x^{n+1}\bigr)=(n+1)x^n for n≠−1n\ne-1, derive the general formula for the antiderivative of xnx^n. State clearly each step used in your derivation.
