Problem

A cyclist riding along a straight road changes his speed under uniform acceleration. (i) His speed increases from 18 km/h18\,\text{km/h} to 36 km/h36\,\text{km/h}. Convert both speeds into SI units. (ii) The change in speed occurs in 6 s6\,\text{s}. Calculate the cyclist’s acceleration, expressing the answer with proper sign and unit. (iii) State whether the motion in this interval is speeding up or slowing down and justify your answer on the basis of the sign of acceleration obtained in part (ii).
