Problem
An athlete starts from the south-west corner of a rectangular playground whose sides run north–south and east–west. She follows the rectangular boundary along these straight-line segments:
• 30 m east along the south side
• 40 m north along the east side
• 18 m west along the north side
• 15 m south and stops at point Q inside the ground.
Using this information, answer the following:
(i) Sketch the outline of the playground, trace the athlete\'s complete path, and mark the finishing point Q.
(ii) Compute the total distance run by the athlete.
(iii) Determine the magnitude of her displacement from the starting point to point Q.
(iv) On your sketch, draw and label the displacement vector.
