Problem

For a positive integer n≥4n\ge 4, compare the two binomial coefficients (n3)\displaystyle {n\choose 3} and (n4)\displaystyle {n\choose 4}. (a) Obtain an inequality relating (n3)\displaystyle {n\choose 3} and (n4)\displaystyle {n\choose 4} in terms of nn. (b) Hence determine all integer values of nn for which (n3)≥(n4)\displaystyle {n\choose 3}\ge {n\choose 4} and all values for which (n3)<(n4)\displaystyle {n\choose 3}<{n\choose 4}. Justify your answer.
