Problem

A bag contains 44 red, 55 blue and 33 green marbles of identical size. One marble is drawn at random, replaced, and the bag is shaken. Then a second marble is drawn. The colours are noted in order. (i) How many ordered pairs of outcomes constitute the complete sample space? Write the first few to illustrate the pattern. (ii) Compute the probability that both marbles drawn are of the same colour. (iii) Determine the probability that exactly one of the two marbles is green. (iv) Calculate the probability that at least one of the two marbles drawn is red.
