Problem

Two identical microwave antennas act as coherent sources and emit waves of wavelength 0.050 m0.050\,\text{m}. A detector is placed at a point where the phase difference between the arriving waves is 240∘240^{\circ}. (i) Convert the given phase difference to radians. (ii) Determine the corresponding path difference between the waves at the detector. (iii) Will the detector register a maximum or a minimum in intensity at this point? Justify your answer with suitable reasoning.
