Problem

A cyclist starts from rest and his distance from the starting point was noted every 5 s5\,\text{s}. The observations are given below. Time tt (s): 0 5 10 15 20 Distance ss (m):\; 0 15 30 45 60 (i) Calculate the displacement covered in each successive 5 s5\,\text{s} interval. (ii) From your calculations decide whether the cyclist’s motion is uniform or non-uniform. Give a reason for your answer. (iii) If the same pattern of motion continues for another 20 s20\,\text{s}, predict the distance of the cyclist from the start at t=40 st = 40\,\text{s}.
