Problem

In a right-angled triangle, the lengths of the sides are 9 cm, 12 cm and 15 cm. (a) For the acute angle θ\theta opposite the side of length 9 cm, find sin⁡θ\sin \theta, cos⁡θ\cos \theta and tan⁡θ\tan \theta. (b) Using the values obtained in part (i), verify that sin⁡2θ+cos⁡2θ=1\sin^2 \theta + \cos^2 \theta = 1.
