Problem

A small square plate of side 2.0 cm2.0\,\text{cm} behaves like an ideal blackbody. Its temperature is maintained at 900 K900\,\text{K}. Use the data b=2.9×10−3 m Kb = 2.9\times10^{-3}\,\text{m\,K} and σ=5.67×10−8 W m−2 K−4\sigma = 5.67\times10^{-8}\,\text{W\,m}^{-2}\,\text{K}^{-4}. (i) Calculate the wavelength at which this plate emits radiation most intensely. (ii) Determine the total power emitted from the entire surface of the plate.
