Problem

A 0.20 kg steel ball is moving due east with a speed of 15 m/s when a constant horizontal force of 50 N acts on it toward the west for 0.030 s. (i) Determine the impulse delivered to the ball, stating its direction. (ii) Calculate the velocity (magnitude and direction) of the ball immediately after the force ceases to act. (iii) If no further horizontal forces act on the ball, find the horizontal distance it travels in the next 3.0 s.
