Problem

A physics laboratory keeps liquid nitrogen in a storage vessel whose capacity is quoted as 7.50×102 L7.50 \times 10^{2}\,\text{L}. (i) Write this capacity in standard form. (ii) During an experiment, 8.2×101 L8.2 \times 10^{1}\,\text{L} of liquid nitrogen is withdrawn each hour. How many hours will it take to empty the vessel completely? Present your final answer to the correct number of significant figures. (iii) Convert the capacity obtained in part (i) into cubic metres (1 m3=103 L)(1\,\text{m}^{3}=10^{3}\,\text{L}) and write the result in both scientific notation and standard form.
