Problem

A circle with centre OO has radius 15 cm15\,\text{cm}. Two parallel chords ABAB and CDCD lie on opposite sides of OO and the perpendicular distance between the chords is 14 cm14\,\text{cm}. If AB=24 cmAB = 24\,\text{cm}, answer the following. (i) Find the perpendicular distance of each chord from the centre. (ii) Calculate the length of CDCD. (iii) Prove that the perpendicular bisectors of ABAB and CDCD intersect at OO.
