Problem

A museum charges an entrance fee of Rs 150 per visitor and attracts 600 visitors on a particular day. It is observed that for every increase of Rs 10 in the entrance fee, 20 fewer visitors attend the museum. (i) If the entrance fee is increased by Rs 10x10x and the number of visitors decreases accordingly, write an expression for the new revenue in terms of xx. (ii) Form an equation by equating the new revenue to the original revenue and simplify it to obtain a quadratic equation in xx. (iii) Solve the quadratic equation obtained in part (ii) and state the value(s) of xx that keep the revenue unchanged. (iv) Using the realistic value of xx, find the new entrance fee and the corresponding number of visitors.
