Problem

The isotope 35 ⁣Cl^{35}\!\text{Cl} has mass number A=35A=35. (a) Calculate the nuclear radius of 35 ⁣Cl.^{35}\!\text{Cl}. Take R0=1.2×10−15 m.R_0=1.2\times10^{-15}\,\text{m}. (b) Using your result from part (a), find the volume of this nucleus. (c) If the mass of one nucleon is 1 u=1.66×10−27 kg,1\,\text{u}=1.66\times10^{-27}\,\text{kg}, determine the density of the 35 ⁣Cl^{35}\!\text{Cl} nucleus. Express your answer in kg m−3\text{kg}\,\text{m}^{-3} and comment briefly on whether it agrees with the accepted nuclear density.
