Problem

A fair die is thrown once. Let AA: “the number obtained is even”, BB: “the number obtained is a multiple of 3”. (i) Calculate P(A)P(A), P(B)P(B) and P(A∩B)P(A \cap B). (ii) Verify whether the events AA and BB are independent, showing all steps clearly. (iii) If the die is thrown a second time independently of the first throw, find the probability that event AA occurs in the first throw while event BB does not occur in the second throw. State clearly any property of independence you use.
