Problem
A single-turn square loop of side 10cm carries a current of 5.0A and is placed in a uniform magnetic field of magnitude 0.30T. The angle between the magnetic field and the normal to the plane of the loop is 45∘.
(i) Find the magnitude of the torque acting on the square loop.
(ii) The same wire is now bent into a single-turn circular loop enclosing the same area as the square. Determine the radius of the circular loop and calculate the magnitude of the torque on it when it is kept at the same orientation (45∘ between its normal and the magnetic field).
