Problem

During an experiment, a 28.0 g28.0\,\text{g} piece of unknown metal at 150.0 ∘C150.0\,^{\circ}\text{C} is placed in a coffee-cup calorimeter containing 110.0 g110.0\,\text{g} of water at 22.5 ∘C22.5\,^{\circ}\text{C}. The calorimeter itself absorbs heat according to a heat capacity of 18.5 J ∘C−118.5\,\text{J}\,^{\circ}\text{C}^{-1}. When equilibrium is reached, the temperature is 26.1 ∘C26.1\,^{\circ}\text{C}. If the metal’s molar mass is 55.8 g mol−155.8\,\text{g}\,\text{mol}^{-1}, determine its molar heat capacity in J mol−1 ∘C−1\text{J}\,\text{mol}^{-1}\,^{\circ}\text{C}^{-1}.
