Problem

Deuterium-tritium fusion, 12H+13H→24He+01n{}_{1}^{2}\text{H} + {}_{1}^{3}\text{H} \rightarrow {}_{2}^{4}\text{He} + {}_{0}^{1}\text{n} , happens at a lower temperature than deuterium-deuterium fusion, 12H+12H→23He+01n{}_{1}^{2}\text{H} + {}_{1}^{2}\text{H} \rightarrow {}_{2}^{3}\text{He} + {}_{0}^{1}\text{n} . Can you suggest a reason for this observation?
